Bi Rain (ピ, 비) – Rainism Korea Film Award (2008 – 12 – 04)

-

whats new in seo worldYou know how at the prom, everyone goes for uber-glitz and black-tie formal, only its done through the filter of a 17-year-old fashion sense — or rather, what a 17-year-old would think was formal black-tie fashion sense? So the end result is a really weird mix of over-the-top gaudiness that may have been expensive but looks cheap?

Thats kind of the feel I get from looking at pictures from the 7th Annual Korea Film Awards.

Of course there are some standouts — Han Ye-seul glammed it up with the appropriate touch of class and sexiness — but there were also a lot of beautiful women in ugly dresses that looked more off-the-rack Jessica McClintock (hey, its fake prom!) than red-carpet awards ceremony.

So if were talking red-carpet wow factor, it was a decided step down from, say, last months lovely Blue Dragon Awards.

As for the awards themselves, no surprises if youve been watching the accolades accumulate all year long. The Chaser was the overwhelming winner, with The Good, The Bad, The Weird taking up (a distant) second place. A few notable exceptions from the rule were Kang Ji-hwan (A Movie Is a Movie) and Gong Hyo-jin (Crush and Blush), but you can check out the full list (and, of course, the fashions!) below the jump.

Analytics Prior to Initiating a Search Engine Optimization (seo) Campaign

-

The following are the four major areas on which every webmaster should work prior to optimizing a website on search engines.

1. Website design, structure and obstacles: For a website to perform better on search engine, it needs a good navigable structure with proper organization of web pages. Also it is very important to find out on-page features that usually prevent a website from ranking higher on search engines. The on-page factors (some of which include titles and meta tags, alt tags, web page content, keyword density, HTML errors, sitemap check, excessive flash, dynamic URLs, redirects Robots.txt, custom 404, use of frames ) must be proper and placed correctly to make a website search engine friendly.

2. Inbound Links: Know how many links are pointing to your site and their nature. Note down the Google page rank of all the pages of the website and also the Alexa rank of the site at the time of beginning search engine optimization (SEO) campaigning as these can be used further to compare the progress rates of the website. Also know about the link text used and the number of linkers. Always remember that a site would be rated higher if it has a good number of back links pointing from top-rated and popular websites. Search engines considered quality to be more important than the quantity. Hence linking pointing from underrated website would add much less to improving the rank of a website. So, when analyzing the inbound links focus more on the type and quality of the links pointing to the site.

3. Competitor Analysis: Identify your top competitors in your business segment. Analyze at least top five competitors and know why and how they are rated top. You can create a benchmark for you search engine optimization (SEO) campaigning by analyzing your top competitors. Know their strong and weak areas, identify your strengths and weakness and plan accordingly to combat them on the web space. Also give a keen observation on their website age, inbound links, Alexa rank, Google page rank, SEO score, number of visitors per day and keyword positioning on Google.

4. Keyword Research: Research and identify which words are used by your competitors in effectively drawing visitors to their sites. Find out the search volume of such keywords/phrases and know which keywords/phrases would best describe your site and easy to optimize. Don’t just focus on one-word search terms, this may narrow down your efforts; concentrate more on stemmed keywords and long-term keywords. Stemmed keywords/phrases and long tail keywords/phrase have comparatively less volume and hence easy to optimize. Secondly being more specific to the business, such keywords/phrases help in driving more quality traffic to your site. This means that even though the site gets limited number of traffic, the probability of converting them into potential customers will be high.

Seo Is A Never Ending Job

-

A discussion of the evolution of SEO and why it is important to practice eternal vigilance of the search engine optimization that is on your site so that it is always effective.

If you have been following the SEO business at all or are even just a little bit interested in it you have probably noticed that it is a niche that is expanding on the net. It is way more competitive of a business then it was a few years ago. Also more and more people are adopting SEO techniques in order to impress the search engines. As a result the search engines have responded in kind by constantly changing the rules of the game.

It doesn’t help that the number of pages that need to be indexed by the search engines have increased exponentially since last year. Some experts say that there are as many as four times the webmasters using SEO techniques then there was last year. What this means is that it is harder than ever to get a top spot in the search engines. However what is even more difficult is maintaining that top search engine page ranking once you get it.

Another problem in general in this business is that it is taking a couple of years for web masters to see the effects of their SEO show up in their business. This is simply because there is such a backlog of websites. Even weirder, any top ranking that you might receive is not necessarily a total guarantee of better business. Some top rankings are very “now you see me, now you don’t” Sometimes you can have the top ranking in a search engine for only a day.

The newer your website is the more likely the above problems are to be compounded for you. That is just a fact of life as the newer your site is the less likely it is to be able to take advantage of keywords that have already been used by older sites that are competitors.
